<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil for ink which maintains the characteristics of a higher aromatic mineral oil and offers a high level of safety. SOLUTION: An oil for ink has a mutagenicity index MI of smaller than 1.0, an aroma component (%CA) of from 20 to 55%, a kinematic viscosity at 40 deg.C of 600 mm<2> /s or larger and an aniline point of 100 deg.C or lower. The amount of benz [a] anthracene, benz [b] fluoranthene, benz [j] fluoranthene, benz [k] fluoranthene, benzo [a] pyrene, dibenz [a, j] acridine, dibenz [a, h] anthracene, 7H-dibenzo [c, g] carbazole and dibenzo [a, e] pyrene contained are each not higher than 10 ppm (based on mass) and the total amount thereof is not higher 50 ppm (based on mass), based on the total amount of the oil for ink.</p> |
