PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily and rapidly remove the coating material of an optical fiber by cutting and parting the coating material in a direction orthogonal with its axial line and cutting and removing the coating material in an axial line direction when the cut coating material moves. SOLUTION: The optical fiber F placed on a base 5 is aligned and positioned to a home position by the notching part and positioning part of a V-groove guide 10 and is set on a cutter 3. When a cover 7 is closed, a cutter 4 disposed at the cover 7 meshes with the cutter 3 and cuts the coating material C in the direction orthogonal with its axial line and cuts the strip length part. In succession, the notching size to the optical fiber F is set by turning position adjusting members 21, 22. These position adjusting members 21, 22 move moving members 19, 20 freely attachably and detachably by turning and set the notching size by cutting blades 14, 15 fixed to the moving members 19, 20 with the high accuracy. When the optical fiber F is moved in its axial line direction after the cover 7 is opened, the strip length part of the outer layer coating is bisected in the axial line direction. |
