PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively decrease gases, such as water molecules, remaining in an empty panel before liquid crystal injection and to shorten the time for treatment. SOLUTION: The empty panel 5 is put into a chamber, 7 where the pressure is reduced down to <=1×10<-2> Pa by evacuation. Next, nitrogen 18 introduced into the chamber 7 and >=1×10<+1> Pa is attained. Further, the stage of reducing the pressure in the chamber 7, then introducing the nitrogen is repeated several times, by which the residual gases and more particularly the water molecules adsorbed within the empty panel 5 are efficiently discharged and the time for treatment is shortened. The pressure in the chamber 7 is thereafter reduced to <=1×10<-3> Pa and the injection port 6 of the empty panel 5 is submerged into liquid crystals 10. The liquid crystals 10 are injected into the empty panel 5 by a pressure difference by introducing the nitrogen into the chamber 7 and restoring the atm. pressure therein.
