PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the startup property under severe conditions in a cold region by providing a preliminary start electric motor driven by a preliminary low pressure battery and conducting electricity to the preliminary start electric motor instead of conducting electricity to an alternating current electric generator when an emergency switch is operated and the start operation of an internal combustion engine is done. SOLUTION: When a key switch 25 is turned on, a control circuit 5 sets a start mode and connects a high pressure battery 3 with an inverter 4, and direct current energy of the high pressure battery 3 is converted into alternating current energy by the inverter 4 to give slow rotation magnetic field which rotates at a speed below idling rotation speed to an alternating current electric generator 2. At this time, when a driver confirms that the alternating current electric generator 2 does not rotate and is not driven, an emergency switch 13 is turned on. Consequently, a low pressure direct current current from a preliminary low pressure battery 11 is conducted to a relay 15 through a relay 17, a key switch 25, and a relay 14, and a contact is changed over to on position to supply the low pressure direct current current to a preliminary start motor 12 so as to start an internal combustion engine 1. |
