PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber optic sensor head which can detect such a material to be measured that the spectral property of the material itself is not able to be utilized, has a high S/N and excellent sensitivity, can be reduced in size, and can be operated easily. SOLUTION: A short optical fiber 2 for sensing is bent in such a way that the light inputting and outputting ends of the fiber 2 are directed in the same direction, and that a sensing film 1 is formed on the outer periphery of the core of the fiber 2 in the bent section. In addition, the fiber 2 is connected to optical fibers 3a and 3b for transmission through a connector 4. When light is transmitted through the fibers 3a and 3b under such a condition, the optical characteristic of the sensing film 1 changes in accordance with a material to be measured and the intensity of the light outputted from the fiber 2 for sensing changes. |
