PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full-color dry image forming material having stability to a change in storage environment such as a change in humidity and maintaining color balance even at high humidity and to provide a dry image forming method. SOLUTION: This dry image forming material has a layer contg. microcapsules contg. at least a photosetting compd., a photoinitiator, a dye precursor and a water absorbing resin in the inner phase on the substrate, contains a developer in the microcapsule-contg. layer or an adjacent layer and further contains phosphoric at least one carboxylic acid in the microcapsule- contg. layer or an adjacent layer. The dry image forming material is imagewise exposed and the microcapsules are imagewise broken by pressing the entire image forming material to form the objective dye image.
