摘要 According to the invention, a stream of articles (10), e.g. drink bottles, are transported on a conveyer (12) during which certain, e.g. defective, articles are guided in an outward direction by means of a number of guiding segments (22), said segments moving synchronously with the conveyer over a given distance, in order to push an article (10) from the conveyer (12). The guiding segments (22) located inside a cradle (18) are adjacent to one another in the direction of transportation and can move in and out. The cradle (18) can move back and forth in the direction of transportation. Said cradle (18) is generally controlled in such a way that it operates somewhat synchronously with the conveyer (12) over a given distance. The length of the distance during which the cradle (18) operates somewhat synchronously with the conveyer (12) is shorter than the distance between the first and the last guiding segment (22) inside the cradle (18) together with the minimum distance of the articles. A traveling rail (26) which is perpendicular to the direction of transportation enables said guiding segments (22) to be coupled in an individual manner according to choice.
