An occlusion clamp (10), and an applicator (12) for applying the occlusion clamp (10) to body tissue is provided. The occlusion clamp applicator (12) includes a housing (14) having finger gripping members (20). The housing defines a channel (38) which extends between the first, and second openings (34). A plunger (16) is partially positioned within the channel (38), and extends through the first opening (34). The distal end of the plunger (16) is operably connected to a jaw mechanism (18) which is also slide positioned within the channel (38).
