The subject matter of the invention is a grip-mounted coded hammer sear for revolver and hammer operated pistol. A sliding sear (7) can be displaced in the grip (1) both ways in direction L. The sliding sear (7) in of its extreme positions denies the displacement needed for the functioning of the hammer (19) (S, S1) while in the other extreme position the pass-through nest (8) permits the displacement (S, S1). The displacement of the sliding sear (7) is impeded by the sear plates (10) protruding into the sear lug (9) shaped on the sliding sear (7). The sliding sear can only be pushed if the sear releasing nest (15) on the sear plates (10) gets into the sear lug (9). The sear plate (10), the axis of rotation (18) and the code disc (11) constitute a rigid system and can be turned jointly around the axis of rotation (18). The appropriate scoring of the code marks (12) and the base mark (14) being on the code disc (11) and on the base plate (13) can assure the pushing of the sliding sear. As long as the sear release nest has not been positioned by the scoring of the appropriate marks, the sliding sear (7) can not be pushed away and as a result, the functioning of the hammer will be denied. In addition to the sliding sear (7) the blocking of the hammer's functioning can be achieved with the rotating sear (21) and the support (22).
