The tool has a cap (9) extending at right angles to the plane of the grip ring and connected by a lever (19) acting against a spring bias. A stop nose (20) engages in a gap (7) of one lug (5) of the hose clip so that pivoting of the lever opens and closes the clip for fitting and removal.
