Points-heating system

A points-heating system has one or more spatially separated heating installations (1) which contain heating elements for a point of a rail system and devices(2) to control the points- heating elements. A weather-prediction device (9) is provided which evaluates the weather forecast data for the respective heating installation relevant to the points heating and transmits to these. The heating element control devices of the respective heating installation control the pertinent heating elements in accordance with the weather forecast data received. The weather forecast device evaluates the data for several spatially separated heating installations with the aid of global weather forecast data of an external weather service system and/or with the aid of weather data that are determined at the location of the installations by weather situation sensors.
