Optical cable has optical conductors (1) fully enclosed by a two-layer sheaths (3,4) consisting of central bundle conductor (3) of dense metal and outer layer (4) of non-metallic material. Space between the conductors and sheaths is filled with a sealing material (2). Outer sheath layer is the only strain element of cable and is enclosed by flame resistant plastic casing (5).
