The turning and telescopic device has a single turning lever (51) for both functions, setting the angle and length of the steering column to suit the size of the driver. The telescopic part acting with the lever has a notched setting lever. It may also have a setting nut and setting bolts acting with the turning lever, and slots in the outer tube (21) and spacer (33), so that the turning lever can set the width of the slot.
