Position indexing wheel showing camshaft orientation with respect to drive wheel

The position indexing wheel (1) shows the adjustable orientation of an IC engine camshaft (3) with respect to its drive wheel (4). The camshaft is in frictional contact with the drive wheel via the flanges (6,7) and fastener (5) regulated by the adjusting mechanism (2). The spring steel indexing wheel (1) incorporates the radial elastic tongues (13-15) giving axial pre-tensioning (9) when compressed by the fastener and its rim (10) signals are registered by the sensor (17).
