This method is suitable for submerged granulation of plastic strands pressed through a perforated plate (1), with a cutter plate (13) at the head, penetrated by strand outlet nozzles (14). In the discharge region, the inlet channels (8) reduce conically. Over at least part of their length, at the circumference, they are surrounded by heating channels. These are supplied by hot steam from a line (20); the steam eventually leaves via a drain (19). An original feature is the stream drying carried out at the drain, the dried steam being supplied to at least one further heat consuming device (25). Also claimed is a perforated plate, used for granulation as described.
