<p>A flexible, chemically resistant tubular diaphragm and method for making the same. The diaphragm includes a substantially cylindrical body having a length and an outer portion comprising a layer of elastomeric material having an inner surface. The substantially cylindrical body includes a chemically resistant lining material adjacent the inner surface. The cross-sectional configuration of the substantially cylindrical body is substantially circular along its length. The method includes the steps of forming a substantially cylindrical body comprising a chemically resistant material and applying an elastomeric material to the outer surface of the substantially cylindrical body to surround the body and to form a composite substantially cylindrical body. The composite body is molded to obtain a substantially uniform circular cross-sectional configuration along its length before it is heated to a predetermined temperature under pressure.</p> |
