The spindle motor has a relatively soft elastic noise damping material (9) inserted in the gap between the winding head (4) of the stator winding (3) and the stator plate (1) of the motor, for partially filling this gap. The damping material (9) may be provided by an adhesive mass with a Shore hardness of between 60 Shore A and 70 Shore D, in a ring between the stator winding head and the stator plate.
