The pressure rollers (4, 7) for suction and delivery are allocated with further pressure rollers (14, 24), forming additional pressure nips (R, S). Each further pressure roller carries a pressing felt (15, 25). The nips prolong pressure during web advancement. To this combination is added a further press unit (64) comprising further pressure rollers (58, 60), forming a nip (T). The additional nip is extended. Additional rollers have deflection-compensated, covered rollers. The covers pass a hydrostatic and/or hydrodynamic yoke, i.e. an active support. The nip (T) loading is frame-accommodated, rather than by foundation- and/or additional external support. Coverings are recessed, accepting pressed water in the relevant nip. The additional rollers are bending-compensating, working with flexible roller covering. Active supports are interconnected. Supports acting against flexibly-cased pressure rollers, induce plane extended nips. Additional pressure rollers have bending compensation rollers with radially moving covering. The nip (T) is held under control in a fixed spatial location during operation. The suction roller is hollow, with a core tube (32) around which the internally-supported covering (30) runs. The external suction box (34) extracts from its interior (36). A press felt (62) is carried by the additional rollers. To exchange felts (6, 15, 25, 62) an introduction tool is provided. Additional rollers are supported for this purpose by equipment fastened to the respective yoke. Through the nip (T) passes at least one endless dewatering felt, below and/or above the web (A). The nip is prolonged and has pressure application units.
