PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance support system which can deal with an abrupt failure and can determine a real cause for the failure attributed to the interlocking of many units and further, can identify the cause for the failure without interposing a human operator according to necessity and also present remedial procedures, in a machine control system comprising many units to be harmoniously controlled through an interlocking action. SOLUTION: A failure is detected by PLC(programmable logic control) for control 1 provided on each of units and a signal from each of PLC's 1 is sent to an input filter 34 through a PLC for interface 2. Further, the signal is converted to a signal format required by an expert system 31 with the help of the input filter 34 and information required for the expert system 31 is sent to the system 31 based on the signal format. The expert system 31 displays information concerning a real cause for a failure or remedial procedures. |
