PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM SUPPORT FOR PALEOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE AND SUPPORT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an aluminum support for a planographic printing plate achieved in cost reduction by the simplification of a process while keeping capacity such as electrolytic surface roughening properties, image quality or the like. SOLUTION: An aluminum support for a planographic printing plate is produced by subjecting an aluminum plate produced by avoiding intermediate annealing treatment and/or scorching heat treatment from a DC casting method or an aluminum plate produced by avoiding intermediate annealing from a continuous casting method to perform electrochemical surface roughening treatment in a hydrochloric acid or nitric acid aq. soln. When the aluminum support thus produced is observed by a scanning electron microscope, a ratio of an area occupied by honeycomb pits with an average diameter of 0.1-3μm is 80-100% and average surface roughness is 0.3-1.5μm.
