PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject controlling agent capable of more effectively controlling aflatoxin contamination by using an antibiotic blasticidin A as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: The objective controlling agent contains an antibiotic blasticidin A of the formula or a salt thereof, preferably of 10-5,000 ppm in the objective controlling agent. The antibiotic blasticidin A is obtained, for example, by culturing blasticidin A-producing microorganisms belonging to the genus Streptomyces and gathering the blasticidin A from the cultured material. The antibiotic blasticidin A or the salt thereof very strongly inhibits the production of an aflatoxin by aflatoxin-producing microorganisms such as Aspergillus parasiticus, and manifesting an excellent activities for controlling the aflatoxin contamination by the aflatoxin-producing microorganisms. The blasticidin A can be produced in extremely higher productivity compared to an antibiotic aflastatin A. |
