PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antitumor agent having strong antitumor effect by formulating a specific morpholino group-containing benzophenone compound as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This antitumor agent is obtained by including a compound of formula I [X is O, S or N-R<1> (R<1> is nitro or the like) or CH2 ; Y is keto or hydroxyl; R<2> and R<3> are each H, OH, an alkoxy or the like; R<4> is an alkyl; R<5> and R<6> are each H, phenyl, an alkyl or the like], its salt as an active ingredient. Especially, a compound of formula II is preferable among the compound of formula I. Especially, (2-morpholino-5-nitrophenyl)phenylmethanone or (2- thiomorpholino-5-nitrophenyl)phenylmethanone is preferable as a compound of formula I or formula II. A compound of formula III which is one of compounds of formula II is obtained by converting a halogenonitrobenzoic acid to an acid chloride and subjecting the acid chloride to Friedel-Crafts reaction with various substituted benzene derivatives to provide a compound of formula IV and reacting the compound of formula IV with various alicyclic amino compounds. |
