PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fuel cost and to enhance production efficiency by improving the meltability of glass and to obtain a high quality glass substrate having higher hardness and Young' s modulus than the conventional one. SOLUTION: A compsn. contg., by weight, 5-15% Na2 O, 0-10% Li2 O, 5-15% Al2 O3 , 0.5-6% CaO, 2-10% TiO2 and 53-75% SiO2 is imparted. Since CaO and TiO2 are particularly contained, glass having superior meltability, high hardness and Young's modulus is obtd. |
