BIFIDOBACTERIUM-CONTAINING TABLET AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain Bifidobacterium-containing tablets exhibiting high survival property of Bifidobacterium for a long period, having good taste and containing live Bifidobacterium having low incidence rate of defective products in large amounts and provide a method for producing the tablets. SOLUTION: The Bifidobacterium-containing tablets contain live Bifidobacterium powder in an amount of at least 2×10<9> based on 1 g tablet and a glycerol fatty acid ester. The method for producing Bifidobacterium tablets comprises adding and mixing a glycerol fatty acid ester as a binder in an amount of 2-5 wt.% based on the tablet with live Bifidobacterium powder in an amount of 20-50 wt.% to the tablet containing at least 2×10<9> live Bifidobacterium per g tablet and directly tableting the resultant mixed powder.
