PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry mounting work of a frame, etc., without contamination even before curing of a sealing material by retreating the sealing material packed into the outer peripheral part of double glazing to the side inner than the outer peripheral end of respective sheets of sheet glass. SOLUTION: The outer peripheral surface of the sealing material 4 of the double glazing constituted by placing two sheets of the sheet glass 1 in juxtaposition via a spacer 2 over the entire peripheral thereof and packing the sealing material 4, such as silicone rubber, silicone resin, polysulfide or hot melt butyl, into the outer peripheral part along the peripheral edge of each of the sheet glass to form a hermetic space 5 retreats in its central part to the side inner than the outer peripheral edge 1b of the sheet glass 1 over the entire periphery. The sealing material is injected in such a manner that the retreating width Δis confined within 0.2 to 2 mm, more preferably 0.5 to 1.5 mm. The sealing material 4 is retreated, by which the mounting of the frame and members, such as attachments for mounting to a window frame, etc., is made possible without the contamination thereof by the adhesion of the uncured sealing material 4 thereto. |
