PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance at the time of push off by constituting the artificial leg with an energy accumulating means actuated by a movable heel mechanism and a control device fitted on a release device for releasing the accumulated energy. SOLUTION: An artificial leg 10 is constituted of a heel loading mechanism 12, a compressible energy accumulating means 14 provided with a lock mechanism 16 and a foot finger spring 18 connected to the lock mechanism 16 by a controllable connecting rod 44. When the heel is brought into contact with the ground, a force is applied to a heel lever 20 to compress the energy accumulating means 14. In this instance, the lock mechanism 16 is hooked to a latch 38 and as the latch 38 locks an accumulating lever 28 to a chassis 22, an elastomer buffer 26 is compressed to accumulate energy. Then, on roll over stage, the latch 38 is pushed by a force applied to the foot finger spring 18 through the connecting rod 44 and a latch release cam 46 to release the energy accumulating lever 28 and to release energy. Push off performance can be improved thereby. |
