<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a switching element comprising a motor driving means from being damaged by estimating or detecting the overshoot of a motor current flowing through a motor and, based on the overshoot and controlling either of the proportional sensitivity and integrating gain of a proportional-integral control means. SOLUTION: A control means 15A of this electric power steering device 1 is provided with an overshoot suppressing means 30A and, when a motor current signal beyond a specified limit larger than the maximum value of a target current is input from an overshoot estimating means 31A, it is estimated that an overshoot has occurred, and an overshoot estimation signal is output to a proportional and integral factor setting means 32. Also the proportional and integral factor setting means 32 reads out a proportional factor and an integrating factor corresponding to the overshoot estimation signal, outputs the proportional factor and integral factor to a proportional element 24 and integral element 25, respectively, and controls a proportional sensitivity and integral gain so that they are increased to reduce and overshoot.</p> |
