<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable steering angle ratio steering device of a vehicle capable of automatically setting the suitable steering angle ratio (the ratio of the turning angle to the steering angle of a steering wheel) according to the operational condition of the vehicle by the intention of a driver. SOLUTION: An operational condition determining means 50 judges the operational condition by a driver based on the magnitude of the steering angle of a steering wheel, the operational frequency of the steering wheel, the accelerator operation, the brake operation, the frequency of the shift-change operation, and outputs the mode designation information 50a to designate a mode out of three modes of quick, normal and slow. A control device 60 is provided with three kinds of steering angle ratio setting parts 61-63 in which the steering angle ratio is respectively set to high, standard and low corresponding to three modes of quick, normal and slow. A control mode switching part 64 switches the steering angle ratio characteristic (vehicle speed-steering angle ratio characteristic) to be used based on the mode designation information 50a. A drive part 65 drives a variable steering angle ratio device 10 so as to realize the target steering angle ratio 64a.</p> |
