<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain a slurry having low viscosity and high density by incorporating a copolymer of an alkenylether andα,β-unsatd. carboxylic acid monomer and/or its anhydride, or incorporating a water-soluble salt of the copolymer as a dispersant. SOLUTION: A copolymer of about 30 to 80 mol.%α,β-unsatd. carboxylic acid monomer and/or its anhydride and 70 to 20 mol.% alkenylether expressed by R1 O(AO)n R2 , having 500 to 100000 weight average mol.wt., and/or a hydrolyzed compds. of the copolymer or water-soluble salts such alkali metal salts, alkaline earth metal salts, ammonium salts and amine salts of the copolymer are added as a dispersant by 0.01 to 5 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of magnesium hydroxide. In the formula, AO is 1 to 18C oxyalkylene group; R1 is 2 to 5C alkenyl group, R2 is 1 to 4C alkyl group, and n is 2 to 100. Thus, a high density water-based slurry having 50 to 75 wt.% solid density is obtd.</p> |
