<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To furthermore generate negative ions at the time when a flow of ions is generated between an ionization wire and an opposed electrode and at the same time to lower the generation amount of ozone harmful to human body. SOLUTION: This air cleaner is provided with a dust collecting unit and an accelerating unit; and the dust collecting unit comprises an ionization wire 32 to which voltage with positive polarity is applied to charge dust in a gas with positive electric charge and collect the dust, an opposed electrode to which voltage with negative polarity is applied, and a dust collecting electrode 34 and the accelerating unit comprises an ionization wire 41 to which voltage with positive polarity is applied to accelerate a gas from the dust collecting unit 3 and an opposed electrode 42 to which voltage with negative polarity is applied. Voltage is applied to respective electrodes so as to make the absolute value of voltage applied between the opposed electrodes 33, 42 and an earth plate 44 higher than the absolute value of voltage applied between the ionization wires 32, 41 and the earth plate 44.</p> |
