The use of sheathed growth medium such as turfing/peating sacks when laying a turfed/peated roof with an angle of inclination less than 45.degree., where the sheathing material comprises water- and air-permeable netting material, preferably plastic material or sacking material with a mesh size between 1 mm2 and 1 dm2, where the turfing/peating sacks optionally containing plant seeds, are laid side by side on top of a foundation, preferably in the same lengthwise or crosswise direction or at least partly stepwise with an internal rotation of 90.degree. with respect to each other.
