FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: oil sump plug has outer thread, hole with internal hexagon on plug end face and magnetic separator rigidly connected with opposite end of plug and consisting of three coaxial cylinders rigidly connected to each other. Middle cylinder is permanent magnet made of rare earth metal based material. Outer diameter of cylinders does not exceed smaller diameter of plug face, and summary length of cylinders of magnetic separator is chosen within the limits of sump oil thickness layer. Length L and diameter D of middle cylinder of magnetic separator are chosen within the limits of L = D = (1,5-1,7)L<SB>1</SB> where L<SB>1</SB> is length of magnetic separator cylinder at side of plug. length of outer cylinder is found from expression L2= (0.25-0.35) L1.
