FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, methods of hardening steel cast and seamless rolled wheels. SUBSTANCE: method includes heat treatment of rim and its reinforcement with stiffeners possessing hardness exceeding the hardness of material in which they are made. Stiffeners are made in the form of ribs which encircle the surface of profile of wheel rolling and made opened and with displacement of points of break of ribs between one another. In this case height of rib cross-section-its width ratio is 1:(3-5). EFFECT: higher service stability of wheels. 1 dwg
