Cage like gripping instrument for endoscope

The elastic wires forming the cage are twisted relative to the cage central axis and are guided into and out of a sleeve by specially provided surfaces at the sleeve opening. The cage structure (10) for gripping the endoscope is formed by three or more elastic wires (1) that are bundled together at two points, the cage being formed between these two points where they diverge and converge respectively. The wires are sufficiently elastic to enable them to pulled into a sleeve (30), at which point the cage structure disappears, and to allow them to be pulled out again to form the cage structure once more. The elastic wires are twisted in the same direction about the central axis of the cage structure. Guide surfaces (31) for the wires are provided at the tip end opening (30a) of the sleeve.
