The received field strength of a desired wave is measured by desired-wave received field strength sensing means (102), and the received field strength of an interfering wave is measured by interfering-wave received field strength sensing means (103). The received strengths are compared by comparison means (104) to calculate the D/U ratio. The FER is measured by frame error rate measuring means (106). By estimating the future D/U ratio and FER from the histories of the two to switch the communication channel, the receiving status is grasped without interrupting the communication, improving the communication quality.
