Sensor for driving seat occupancy

A sensor (5a-c) which monitors if the driver's seat is occupied in a vehicle has a simple mounting in the steering wheel (1). The sensor can be incorporated in the maker's logo (4) in the center of the steering wheel, on the airbag cover. This provides an unobtrusive mounting for the sensor. The sensor can operate in conjunction with other sensors e.g. for a vehicle security system.
