The turbofan aircraft engine is so arranged that the greater part of the cool air stream (13) passes through the hollow outlet scoops (15) into the inner cavity (4a) of the low pressure turbine cone (4), which has a jet-like outlet aperture (22) at its downstream free end, which thus acts as an ejector (14), via which the cool air stream is mixed with the air stream coming from the mixer (8). This end of the cone may have air overflow apertures in it.
