The method involves rearranging a list of active alarms in a subordinate management level of a communications network by storing the alarms appearing in this level, in the sequence of their appearance, and through transmitting the stored alarms to a next higher management level, after a disturbed communication is reinstalled between the subordinate and the next higher management level, to enable the rearrangement of the list of active alarms of the subordinate management level in the next higher management level. The appearing alarms are respectively stored, dependent on the meaning (Critical, Major, Minor, Warning) of the individual alarm on the function of the affected object in memories (QueueCr, QueueMa, QueueMi, QueueWa) of different priority. An appearing alarm of higher meaning (Major), is stored in the memory with the lowest priority (Queuewa), if the memory (QueueMa) associated with the priority of the meaning (Major) of this alarm is full.
