<p>A method of non-invasively administrating a therapeutic dose of buprenorphine to a patient is disclosed. This is accomplished by iontophoretically passing buprenorphine through a predetermined area of skin of the patient, in which the therapeutic dose of buprenorphine is capable of providing an analgesic effect to the patient for a selected period of time. An iontophoretic device for non-invasively administrating the therapeutic dose of buprenorphine to a patient is also disclosed.</p> |
