<p>A novel primer to be used in the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction in order to amplify αs1-casein gene and keratin gene contained in milk and calculate the expression ratio of these genes. By using this ratio as an indication, the pathological conditions of mammalian mastitis are examined or the milk protein synthesis level in mammary gland cells is measured. Thus, the examination/measurement can be conveniently, quickly and accurately effected without excising the mammary gland tissue.</p> |
