The seats, pressed to move the clamp arms apart are positioned in a way that ensures they do not protrude above or below the arms. The clamp (1) has two arms (3, 4) joined together by a base section (5), the inherent elasticity of the arms pressing them together so that their free ends (9) form clamping surfaces. Applying pressure to two seats (12) in the side (11) of the base section facing away from the arms causes the base section to elastically deform and move the arms apart. The seats lie completely within two parallel planes that run parallel to a horizontal length direction central plane through the clamp. The parallel planes pass through the outermost points in the arm contours in between the free end and the point (6) where the arm meets the base section.
