The cylinder head has at least one induction channel (4) for each cylinder (2), into which an auxiliary air channel (5) comes out near the valve seat ring (3) opposite the inlet valve which closes the induction channel. The outlet aperture (5a) of the auxiliary air channel is in the form of a slit. It extends in a plane perpendicular to the induction channel axis (4a) in the region in which it comes out, over an angle segment of between 30 and 180 deg .
