Processes for the recovery of gold and/or silver from lixiviant solutions include a preliminary step of: (a) contacting the lixiviant solution with ion exchange resins containing amine functionality, optionally dispersed or distributed within a polyurethane matrix and/or in the presence of an alcohol that is substantially insoluble in the lixiviant solution, or (b) contacting the lixiviant solution with a liquid extractant in the presence of an alcohol that is substantially insoluble in the lixiviant solution. The ion exchange resin or extractant, once loaded with silver and/or gold, is then separated from the lixiviant solution, and eluted to recover the gold and/or silver values.
|
