Production of a plastic moulding with internal cavities, e.g. a filter press element

In the region of each cavity to be formed, a parting coating of comparatively higher melting point is inlaid. This enables separation of the cavity wall, following the common thermal moulding. An Independent claim is included for the method of manufacture. Various preferred hot moulding process are employed. Preferred features: The support or carrier plate (1) has an edging frame (2). Over the frame is clamped the filter element. It is used in the filter press with press walls (3) advanced on one or both sides. These carry projections and filter cloth (neither shown), forming the usual channels. The parting layer (5) intervenes between support plate and press walls. The moulding is hot-pressed. Polytetrafluoroethylene or PTFE-coated material forms the parting layer. It is about the same shape and size as the press wall.
