Oxygen absorbed from air by fine-grained zeolite and abstracted by vacuum pump

The vacuum pump is a compact, low-energy and low-noise unit combining the advantages of pressure swing absorption and pressure vacuum swing absorption processes. A gas pressurization plant (1) compresses air in a process to extract oxygen. The plant has two absorption units (8,9) supplied with air by a blower (2), and from which oxygen is subsequently desorbed by a vacuum pump (32). The absorption units are packed with fine-grained zeolite (52) similar to that customarily used in a pressure swing absorption (PSA) plant at high pressure. The plant operates especially in shorter cycles than that conventionally used in a PSA plant.
