Vertically adjustable car seat

The vertically adjustable car seat has a supporting element (24) joined to the seat carrying frame (26) with joint (50). The seat belt locking element (32) is pivotally attached to the seat carrying frame with L-shaped element (36) which engages into a tooth sector (48) with engaging area (46) when the seat belt (34) is pulled and is kept in resting position by spring (57). The seat belt when fixed with its locking element to the seat carrying frame is always kept in the same position even when the seat (28) has been adjusted in height or moved along the rails (20) on the car floor. The traditional way of joining the locking device to the car floor leads to changes in the positioning of the seat belt according to the height or the shape of the driver or passenger and reduces safety in case of an accident.
