<p>An umbrella with an umbrella sheath, in which a handle (16) of the umbrella (10) is connected to the umbrella sheath (12) by a connecting means (20). The umbrella sheath (12) is formed with a slit (22) which is long in a lengthwise direction. A winding band (30) is fixed at its one end to the umbrella sheath (12), a first connecting member (28a) is fixed to the umbrella sheath (12), and a second connecting member (28b) detachable from the first connecting member (28a) is fixed to the other end of the winding band (30). When the umbrella (10) is used, the umbrella sheath (12) is rolled starting at its free end to reduce its size, and then the winding band (30) is wound round the umbrella sheath (12) rolled small to permit connection of the second connecting member (28b) and the first connecting member (28a). Accordingly, the umbrella sheath (12) is maintained in a state, in which it is rolled small. With the umbrella (10) spread, the umbrella sheath (12) rolled small hangs downward from the handle (16) of the umbrella (10) through the connecting means (20), but its appearance, just as a hang string (14), is not offensive.</p> |
