This mouse mat comprises a 0.1-1.5 mm thick substrate (1) of natural fibres which can be printed on both sides. It has an anti-slip coating (2) applied to one side using an offset printing process. This is a chlorine- and sulphur-free aqueous dispersion containing 20-80% latex, less than 20 mu m thick, with admixed acrylic polymers and/or polyester resins and/or polyurethane. Preferably the layer includes pigmentation or dyes, and may be printed as an illustration, with no detriment to the anti-slip properties. The layer may include photo-initiators sensitive to ultraviolet light; hence printing is followed by a stage of UV drying. Alternatively drying takes place naturally at room temperature.
