Child proof plastic bottle closure

A childproof closure (1) screw cap with inner thread is fitted to the outer screw thread (2) on the neck (3) of a container. The container neck has an outer safety cam (5) which can be overridden by elastic deformation of the cap (1), further movement of which brings the cam (5) to rest in a matching aperture (6) within the cap (1).
