<p>The present invention provides a method for treating a nonhypertension-associated renal disorder in a subject having a nonhypertension associated renal disorder, comprising administering to the subject a nucleic acid encoding tissue kallikrein and/or a nucleic acid encoding atrial natriuretic peptide under conditions whereby the nucleic acid encoding tissue kallikrein and/or the nucleic acid encoding atrial natriuretic peptide is expressed in a cell in the subject, thereby treating a nonhypertension-associated renal disorder. Also provided is a method of treating a nonhypertension-associated cardiac disorder in a subject having a nonhypertension-associated cardiac disorder, comprising administering to the subject a nucleic acid encoding tissue kallikrein and/or a nucleic acid encoding atrial natriuretic peptide under conditions whereby the nucleic acid encoding tissue kallikrein and/or the nucleic acid encoding atrial natriuretic peptide is expressed in a cell in the subject, thereby treating the nonhypertension-associated cardiac disorder.</p> |
